Scottish Carp Group Waters Guide
Kinghorn Loch
Another Fife water, near the small town of Kinghorn, this is a loch of aprox 22 acres which has a small existing stock of mirror and common carp to 20lbs+. The Loch was also stocked with 36 mirrors and commons with an average weight of 5lbs in 2005 by the SCG, some of the new fish are now into double figures after their first year !
This water has the potential for being a big fish water in future due to the low stock levels, but with some fish already over 20lbs present the rewards are well worth the effort. The Loch also has stocks of roach, perch and pike into double figures.
The SCG has exclusive access to a part of the bank (the conservation area) where fishing was previously not allowed, and SCG members also enjoy free fishing on a part (in front of the boat sheds) where non-members have to pay a day ticket. The swims in the conservation
area are marked with red posts and you must fish within these areas. A maximum of three rods is allowed. There are strict rules that apply to the conservation area (see rules section 13.15 onwards) Disabled access and toilets are available.
