Scottish Carp Group Waters Guide
Danskine Loch, East Lothian
Situated just north of the B6355 near Gifford in East Lothian, this small loch is one of Scotland's original "wildie" waters. Sadly, the original stock is greatly depleted, partly due to major losses from an unknown cause in the early '90s, and it is not known how many remain. In 2005 the SCG re-stocked with wild carp and
mirror carp. There are also roach and a large head of perch – mostly small but with the odd good specimen over 2lbs. Disabled access is difficult as the track around the loch is muddy and access to individual swims tends to be steep and /or involve climbing over fallen trees.
No fishing from 1st November to the 7th February, as it is used for shooting during this time.
